Motor vehicle crashes are the #1 killer of American teens, and strong Graduated Driver Licensing laws reduce the crash risk of new teen drivers. We want to help reduce the number of fatal crashes involving teen drivers.

A comprehensive GDL law has been shown to be highly effective in reducing teen crashes and fatalities. A comprehensive GDL law includes

  • supervised driving with phased-in driving privileges;
  • cell phone and nighttime driving restrictions; and
  • restrictions on the number and type of passengers.

Each of these elements independently contributes to a reduction in crashes and deaths of young drivers.
