The West Virginia Insurance Federation is the trade association for property and casualty insurance companies doing business in West Virginia. Formed in 1979, the WVIF’s members write more than 85% of the auto, home, and workers’ compensation policies in West Virginia.

Members receive regular updates on significant insurance developments from all three branches of government. The WVIF coordinates members’ participation in the filing of briefs amicus curie on significant issues considered by the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and meets annually meets annual with members of West Virginia’s Congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. to discuss federal issues of importance to members. In addition to meeting with members of Congress, we develop a cohesive legislative agenda and strategy for each session. In regular, bi-monthly meetings, we discuss issues affecting member companies and the insurance industry generally.
